Arcturians seem to be constantly on the move and involved sometimes in far ranging and seemingly unconnected projects. To those who know however there is a larger context to which we respond. What follows are the notes of recent travels.
Best in class. Arcturus' new media visionary and resident futurist, Frank Catanzaro, just returned from another stint in Washington D.C. framing the report by the American Council of the United Nations University Millennium Project team. This worldwide network of futurists has just been classified among the world's most effective foresight groups. And former NATO Ambassador, Harlan Cleavland described the '98 report as the most comprehensive document on global futures ever done. Frank recently opened the Millennium Project Maui office to feature training technology, human development, and collaboration tools both on and off the net.
The youth frontier. Betsy Bowen finishes her sixth major curriculum design this time for the World Youth Network. This massive workbook has art by Jim Channon and video by Frank Catanzaro. The lifeskills work Betsy has focused on for years is finding its way into the classrooms of the planet. Jim organized and illustrated another such program focusing on cognitive skills for youth sponsored by the Pacific Institute. The Arcturus team has been selected to host the one thousand young people coming to Hawaii next year for the continuation of the Rio summit on a sustainable planet.
The Corporate Frontier. Forrest Armold and the other "on the road" Arcturians continue to serve a host of corporate clients where they continue their Best in Class meeting support. Among those served were Capitol One, Datahub, Aspen township, Reuters, America One, World Bank, and the Lahaina Restoration Foundation.
Sustainable Development. After nine years of visioning for small communities in Hawaii the Arcturus team published the full color map of the future of the Hawaiian Bioregion called Hawaii 2020. It was carried as a centerfold by the Kau Landing magazine. Frank did a video for Sustainable Technologies in Maui and the team is gearing up to help the President design his new conferences for the Presidents Council on Sustainable Development. They will team up to help Kauai do its fall series of workshops focusing on that Island.
